MCP is asking me to sign in again. Is something wrong?
No. This is expected behavior with MCP. For security reasons, MCP sessions expire based on the bank’s security settings. You just need to sign in again to reconnect MCP.
I signed into MCP successfully, however I am now seeing an access error.
This usually means your user account hasn’t been enabled for MCP access. You should contact First Internet Bank at [email protected] or 1-888-873-3424 to confirm that MCP access has been provisioned for you.
MCP Tools Not Working
My MCP connector shows as connected, but MCP tools aren’t working.
If your MCP connector isn’t working even though it appears connected, you will need to fully disconnect and reconnect MCP. That means going through the complete MCP sign-in flow again—not just refreshing the page.
My MCP tools were available before, but didn’t update after I reconnected.
This is typically caused by cached MCP schema data. If MCP tools aren’t updating, you can try the steps below, in order:
Refresh the MCP tools list.
In ChatGPT, select Refresh on the MCP connector.
In Claude, disconnect and reconnect the MCP connector.
Clear my browser cache, then reconnect MCP.
Delete the MCP connector, wait a few minutes, and add it again.
Make sure I only have one Narmi MCP connector connected at a time. Multiple MCP connections can cause conflicts.
MCP Data & Account Information
Why doesn’t MCP show my statements or tax documents?
MCP can retrieve information about my documents—such as document type and date—but MCP can’t download or display the full statements. To view statements or tax documents, you will need to sign in to First Internet Bank online banking.
Why doesn’t MCP show pending transactions?
MCP only returns posted transactions. Pending transactions aren’t available through MCP at this time
My balance in MCP looks different than what I see in digital banking. Is MCP wrong?
No. MCP shows a total balance across all accounts, including Certificates of Deposit. Digital banking shows total available cash, which excludes CDs. Both views are accurate—they simply reflect different balance definitions.
Why doesn’t MCP show my linked external account?
MCP only displays fully verified external accounts. If your external account is still in the verification process, it won’t appear in MCP yet.
