You may make your initial deposit via check, wire transfer or credit card. Please follow the instructions on your Deposit Account Application.

Once we have opened your First IB account, you will have a variety of ways to make deposits:

ATM - STAR® Network
Many STAR ATMs will accept deposits to your First IB account. To locate a STAR ATM near you that will accept your deposit, click here. We recommend you search by city and state (using the locator on the right side of the screen). You must check the box next to the icon of the envelope with the dollar sign in Step 2 before you submit the form in order to search for deposit-taking ATMs.

Bank-to-Bank Transfers through Automated Clearing House (ACH)
ACH is a means of sending money between financial institutions on a designated date and on a regular basis. You can use this service to deposit money or to make payments on a First IB loan account by authorizing us to debit an account you have at another financial institution. You may also authorize First IB to deposit to your account with us by debiting your account at another financial institution "on-demand".

Check Deposits
First IB provides prepaid, self-addressed envelopes at no cost to our customers. We mail an initial supply when we open your account. You may order additional envelopes at any time through our online banking system.

Please do not send deposits to our street address, and do not send cash. If you are mailing a deposit without a prepaid First IB envelope, please mail it to the following address:

Credit Card
You may use a credit card to make deposits to your First IB account through our online banking system. Please remember, while our online banking system is secure, email is not. For your own security, please do not send your credit card information to us through email. Fees apply to deposits made using a credit card; please refer to our Common Account Fees schedule for current fee information.

Direct Deposit
First IB is glad to accept Direct Deposits into your deposit account. Many employers offer this service, and your payroll department should be able to have your net pay deposited directly to your First IB account. Please contact your payroll administrator for requirements.

To sign up to have Social Security and other federal benefit payments deposited directly into your First IB account, visit the GoDirect website. First IB Office
You may make a deposit to your account at either of our Indianapolis offices during normal business hours. Please remember that our corporate headquarters is a cashless operation, and we will not be able to make change.

Wire Transfer
To send an incoming wire to your First IB account from another financial institution in the United States, provide the sending financial institution First Internet Bank of Indiana's routing number (074014187) and your nine-digit First IB account number.

To send a wire to your First IB account from an institution outside the United States, you will need to provide the sending financial institution the following information:
